Lana

Lana was a competitive swimmer for many years. When she was 13, she had the amazing opportunity of competing in the Junior Olympics. Lana admits she had tons of fun in Virginia and met lots of great swimmers, however she did not end up pursuing a career in competitive swimming; but, it did help her find something sheI enjoyes much more, teaching children how to swim. Lana has extensive in experience in coaching swim teams and has been to countless sanctioned competitve events with various swim teams.

Lana has been teaching swim lessons for almost 7 years now, having taught in Florida as well as Louisiana. Lana is now completing her third year as a Mr Fish Baby Swim instructor. "Mr Fish has an amazing approach to working with children. I am excited to be working with such a great group of people" says Lana.

Lana moved to New Orleans in 2002 from Florida, where she earned an Associates Degree with a concentration in Psychology from Delgado in 2004. Her long-term goal is to become a psychologist and help children.

My personal motto: "Your attitude affects everyone around you, keep it positive and everyone will have fun!

As Dory, from Finding Nemo, would say, " …just keep swimming…just keep swimming…"

We are very proud of Lana and will do everything we can to insure her continued association with our program.
